These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website, services, and content provided by Faretta Legal ("Faretta Legal", "we", "us"). By using the site or purchasing any service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site or our services.
1. Not a law firm
Faretta Legal is not a law firm and is not authorized to practice law. Ryan Nichols is not a licensed attorney. Our services are investigative, organizational, and advocacy work — things like timelines, evidence binders, public-records requests, motion skeletons, and case research summaries. We do not provide legal advice, legal opinions, or representation in court.
2. No attorney-client relationship
Submitting a form, sending us an email, purchasing a service, or otherwise communicating with us does not create an attorney-client relationship. Nothing we deliver is legal advice. Anything we provide is for your personal use on your own case, and the legal decisions about your case remain entirely yours.
3. Our work product is your starting point, not your finish line
Our deliverables are based on what you tell us, the documents you provide, and publicly available records. We are not responsible for outcomes in your case, and you agree that the quality and completeness of our work depends on the accuracy of what you give us. You should review every deliverable carefully and verify any cited authority against the current law before relying on it.
4. Personal use only — no redistribution
The work product we deliver to you is licensed for your personal use on your own case (or, if you are an attorney client, on the case for which you engaged us). You may not resell, republish, redistribute, or sublicense our deliverables to third parties without our written permission.
5. Payments and refunds
All payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are displayed in U.S. dollars and may be revised at any time. Refunds are considered case by case, within 7 days of purchase; to request a refund, email Ryan@RealRyanNichols.com with your order details. After 7 days, or after a deliverable has been sent, refunds are at our sole discretion.
6. We can decline work
We reserve the right to decline or end any engagement we find problematic, conflicted, abusive, illegal, or outside our expertise — with a refund of any unfulfilled portion of the fee. Examples include matters that would constitute the unauthorized practice of law, requests to fabricate evidence, harassment campaigns, or anything that would put us in conflict with another client.
7. Content ownership
All content on this site — articles, case files, design, copy, graphics, and software — is owned by Faretta Legal or our licensors and is protected by U.S. copyright law. You may not copy, mirror, or republish substantial portions of the site without our written permission. Quoting short excerpts with attribution and a link back is fine.
8. Tips and submissions
If you submit a tip or send us evidence, you grant us a non-exclusive license to use that information in our investigative reporting, redacted as we judge appropriate. We will respect any reasonable confidentiality request you make in writing at the time of submission.
9. Third-party services
The site may link to third-party tools (Stripe, HubSpot, Resend, Supabase, Vercel, public-records portals, court dockets). Their terms and privacy policies govern your use of those services. We are not responsible for third-party content or downtime.
10. Disclaimers
The site and our services are provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any deliverable will produce a particular legal result.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the site or our services is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages, or for loss of a case, lost profits, lost data, or lost opportunity.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Faretta Legal and its operator from any claim arising out of your misuse of our deliverables, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.
13. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or our services is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Harrison County, Texas.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
